Public Artwork: Neighbourly Figures at 45 Gorge Road East Victoria, British Columbia Dates: August 2024 Project Description: Neighbourly Figures references community lore collected from the neighbourhood around the site of installation, from beloved trees and pets to memorable artistic features. The artwork’s forms are influenced in part by 1973 murals painted inside the Gorge Road Hospital by a local admirer of Picasso, Braque and Matisse. With a playful approach to shape, colour and light, Neighbourly Figures contemplates the stories and pastimes of Gorge Road residents, past, present and future
